reading 2008: the preparations...

shunning the M4 east for the comforts of first great western (first class no less!), three of the fearless vendettas (accompanied by an assortment of really rather useful sound engineers) set off to reading 2008 - their fourth as the musical puppeteers of the radio one/nme stage...

with thanks to snoozy bands who took their eyes of the champagne on their rider at last weeks V festival, the ladies watched the world whizz by in a blitz of bubbles and badge-bagging (see photo below).

thursday night pre-reading festival means reconiciliations with old friends (the gals from my ex-boyfriends records, steve lamacq, neil pengilly - the man who decides who you see at reading) at various pubs & bars across the river of reading.

friday morning means arriving on site before the bars open, to check out the stage set up, check in with the stage managers, and spread records out across the decks in order to kick off what we know is going to be yet another brilliant reading festival weekend....
