stories from the dj booth...

last weekend the VV's dj'ed at clwb ifor bach, at the dudes abide. it was the first time that we'd been together as a proper, power threesome since our amazing rocking of da radio one/nme stage at reading... and our super-fun set (in matching vinyl vendettas cardigans!) ... we were expecting a lot of fun, as shooting at unarmed men had played with big joan...man, we were going to bust out the fall, lightning bolt, shellac and some hip new band that laura & i never heard of but our ever-cool ms elfyn is all over...

seriously though...our first requests were incubus (what do you think?) arcade fire (this is a rock club) and the rolling stones. always happy to oblige, i played the last fella 'monkey man'. an hour later, said fella comes up to me...

drunk bloke: "can you play the rolling stones?"
me: "it's always a pleasure, but i already did"
drunk bloke: "nah ya didn't. what song?"
me: "monkey man, it's on let it bleed"
drunk bloke: "but that's a beatles album!"

we've got not gigs lined up...but we are doing some crazy recordings and research into a radio show. all class, us.
